I have a boyfriend. He lives 258 miles away. If I want to see him, I have to fly there. I’m still boycotting Vday. Not because I’m sad I won’t be with him today, but because it is small and shallow to have a single day you show someone you love them. Do it EVERY day, for Pete’s sake, or once a month. Once a year? One day in 365 to tell that person how important they are? Bullcrap. Do it every day, and ignore this one stupid day which is invented and small. Today I miss him because I’m being made to realise he’s not here because everyone else has been suckered in by this stupid holiday.
