Authentic love is powerfully expressed through the creation of social justice. When we dare to challenge ritualistic consumerism and inequality, our celebration of intimacy becomes revolutionary. This Valentine’s Day, my partner and I will be connecting for soulful conversation over cups of French-roasted coffee and setting aside a donation for our local domestic violence shelter.
It is because of my trust in the transformative power of love that I remember the women who will be abused today, the women fleeing for their lives. May they find the safety, healing and hope they need.
True love is liberation for all.
